九寸钉乐队（Nine Inch Nails）让人们吃惊的绝不仅仅是他们的音乐。3月4日我们曾报道了他们将新专辑“Ghosts I-IV ”提供免费下载的消息；今天早晨获知新单曲“Echoplex”提供免费下载；现在又获知他们的最新专辑“The Slip”提供免费下载。九寸钉的创作力真是惊人，他们抛弃传统唱片业的勇气真是惊人。下图是这张专辑的封面。

这张专辑共10首歌，总长约44分钟，包括我们上面提到的那首单曲。提交email地址就可以获得下载链接，而且可以把这张专辑作为礼物发给朋友们，写上朋友的email地址，下载链接就会发过去了。另外下载的格式也极多，包括MP3、FLAC 、M4A、24/96 WAV，音质由低到高，大小也从87mb上升到1.2gb。

九寸钉（Nine Inch Nails）是一个传奇金属乐队，乐队风格难以一言概括，“重金属”、“流行重金属”、“工业摇滚”、“死亡摇滚”，由他去吧。

九寸钉加入了成名乐队脱离音乐厂商，独自利用互联网发行唱片的行列。RadioHead去年发布的“In Rainbows”是第一次尝试。

九寸钉的新专辑叫作“Ghosts I-IV ” ，一共有36首，可以到这里下载。其中前9首为免费下载，5美元可以获得全部36首歌，10美元可以预订2张CD，另外还有75美元和300美元两种不同包装的版本，其中300美元的为限量版。

Nine Inch Nails have put up the first volume of their album ‘Ghosts’ on torrent sites, under a creative commons license. 第22届“西南偏南（SXSW）”音乐节将在3月12日——16日举行，如果你是SXSW音乐迷的话，今天你将得到一份大礼，从2005年到2008年全部SXSW音乐下载，BT种子在这里。

如果你不喜欢BT的话，可以在SXSW网站上下载2008年提前发布的曲目，只是稍微麻烦一点。如果你不喜欢下载，或者想先听一下，那么最好用 SXSW Player v.08来收听。

Google于今年年初递交了一项“识别图像中的文字”的专利申请，不过现在看来这项工作EverNote已经做得很好了。我们可以在它的网站上先体验一下它的威力。下图是我试着搜索“wine”，点击看大图。

连商标中的文字都能搜出来！真的很了不起。EverNote正在建设网络版本，它还有一个识别软件，版本号为2.2，下载一个软件，可以更好的体验EverNote，不过这个有点大，56.4M。下图是软件的操作界面，点击看大图。

左侧是所有文档的分类，类型几乎应有尽有，比如网页摘录（web clips）、Excel表格、数字墨水（digital ink）、图片（包含手写体，包含打印文字）等等。从这里可以看出，evernote的野心是识别一切文件类型中的信息，然后搜索。它的名字叫evernote，看来是要把所有的信息都记住，然后让人们方便的查找。

最右侧是按时间排列的目录。中间展示的是各种notes。可以对这些notes加分类，还可以简单的进行编辑。网络版本中这些功能应该都会包括。关于网络（还包括手机等各种终端）版本的介绍可以看看这个视频。

除了英语外，evernote还支持法文、德文和俄文搜索。Evernote还推出了针对IE、firefox的插件，目前是和软件同步使用。图片中的文字识别和搜索是一项非常有商用前途的技术，evernote的前景很美妙。（Google会不会收购它呢？）

更新：EverNote的网络版已经公开测试了，但是效果并不像它说的那样好，图片中的字很多都搜不出。

几天前我们介绍了辨识字体的工具WhatTheFont，今天再把大家引到一个字体宝库FontSpace，这是一个字体社区，目前有7521种字体。它有一个非常实用的功能叫“customize”，填进去你想表现的文字，下面就会出现成百上千的字体供你挑选，一页一页的翻本身就是种乐趣，有发现新大陆的感觉。比如我要找silencewolf有什么样的字体。见下图，点击看大图。

喜欢的话就可以下载这种字体，免费的。如果不急着下载，可以给它加上标签，以后好找，可是一定多加几个，或者加的独特点，因为用户加的标签很多，一个标签往往对应很多种字体，找起来会很麻烦。另外，还可以给字体打分，变换字体大小等功能。

Tasmin Little是当今乐坛最活跃的小提琴演奏家之一，在2006-2007繁忙的世界巡演之后，她要进行一个新的尝试，把最新录制的独奏专辑免费在她的网站上提供下载。

她说，“古典音乐正在遭受被误解的痛苦，必须有人站出来做点什么。”这张新专辑的名字叫做“赤裸的小提琴”，3首乐曲完全由小提琴演绎，没有伴奏，Tasmin Little想告诉人们小提琴能够做到多好。

这个在网上提供免费下载音乐的主意是受到了RadioHead去年在网上销售音乐的启发。不过Tasmin并不想以此赚钱，她只是想让更多的人了解到小提琴的魅力。

1月15日，“赤裸的小提琴”正式上线提供下载。现在网站上已经有很多过去录制的曲目或者广播节目提供下载了，听听吧。

经过经年的战争，音像产业内部对待BT的态度已经产生了分歧。一部分人仍然坚持认为BT是盗版的恶源，并继续穷追起诉；另一部分人则认识到了这项技术的另外一面，开始运用这个平台进行市场营销，比如提前发布预告片，对于独立制作人来说，他们更是通过BT，让更多的观众看到了他们的成果。
