这张名叫“Fail Whale”的图片相信不少朋友都很熟悉，一旦twitter宕机，就会显示这张图，看着这么可爱的图片，仿佛失落的心情也稍稍好了一些。它的作者是谁呢？可能知道的人并不多，作者叫Yiying Lu，她拥有自己的创作室，还是悉尼科技大学的设计讲师。

这张图片被twitter采用也纯粹是偶然。它最初是Lu寄给一位在海外的朋友的电子生日贺卡，因为她无法飘洋过海去看Ta。图片最初的名字叫“lifting a dreamer”后来这张图片被放到了iStockPhoto.com上，并且碰巧被twitter看到了。

Lu说，她很高兴这张图片符合twitter宕机时的想法：信息太多了，承受不住了。这张可爱的图片可以稍微补偿一下用户的沮丧情绪。
