去年10月的时候，我们介绍过3款基于Adobe Air的twitter桌面发布工具，分别是snitter、spaz和tweetr，关于后来者twhirl就没有做任何介绍（因为我想够用了）。但是偏偏是这个twhirl最近被号称“视频twitter”的seesmic收购了，也为这类软件提供了一个榜样。今天，twhirl又宣布支持friendfeed了，因此觉得有必要补充介绍它。

上图是twhirl的twitter界面，可以随时发布信息，上传图片（相机标志）和缩短url（链接标志）。它对中文的支持很好，观看的方式多种多样，目前的方式是时间序列（timeline）。下面看看它的friendfeed界面。

与前天介绍的alert thingy相比，twhirl的功能还稍显简单，主要是不能直接发布信息（也应该很快会有）；其他的诸如内置评论、搜索都有。搜索还分用户搜索（lookup）和内容搜索（search）两种。 alert thingy也没闲着，它增加了twitter发布的功能。twhirl和alert thingy已经成了直接的竞争者了。我觉得alert thingy还占一点优势，因为twitter和friendfeed的两个账户是整合在一起的，而twhirl还需要切换（当然可能是暂时的）。

把网页服务转化为基于Adobe Air的桌面软件似乎是一种趋势，因为桌面软件使用起来更随意和方便一些，而且也照顾到很多用户的使用习惯；另外基于Air的软件都很小巧，比如我们介绍过的google分析工具、随意创建歌单的Ubucket等等。

作为目前最火的所谓life stream应用的FriendFeed自然也不应该缺少一个桌面工具，在它公布API没有多久，Alert Thingy就诞生了。右图是它的操作界面，点击看大图。

登入Alert Thingy需要friendfeed的遥控码（remote key）。这张图显示的是“分享（share）”这个选项，其他还有“提醒（alert）”和“设置（settings）”。提醒这一项中显示的就是你的friendfeed的各种消息更新。

Alert Thingy主要的功能集中在分享这一项。首先是可以发表东西到自己的friendfeed中，类似于收藏的功能（相当于网页版中的share）。链接地址可以直接从浏览器地址栏中拖入，图片可以从本地电脑中拖入，如上面的黄框所示。

另外一个重要的功能是内置的评论功能，下面黄框所示，在这里发表评论可以直接发布到friendfeed当中。还有一个表明喜欢还是不喜欢的功能（like）。不好的是，Alert Thingy不支持中文。
