TinEye：用图片搜索图片
用现有的搜索引擎搜索图片，无一例外的都是用文字搜索图片，即查询的文字和图片的文件名或者说明文字对应，那么图片就会显示出来。而TinEye则是用图片搜索图片。比如上传一张图片，或者输入一张图片的地址，它就会检索出相同（相近）的图片，并标明地址。比如我上传了一张甲壳虫乐队第一次美国巡演的海报，搜索结果如下（截图）。
下面还有4组搜索结果。第一组结果和我上传的图简直一模一样，第二个则是一个经过篡改的图片。下面的结果里还有CD封套等等不完整的图片。这些图片链接也不是每个都能链到图上，大概因为很多是论坛的动态链接的原因吧。
TinEye有一个firefox的插件，安装后显示在鼠标右键里。这样上网随时能搜索相同或相似的图片。见下图。
那么TinEye有什么用呢？当然可以用它发掘一下“新大陆”，找些相似的图片（比如恶搞的）来看；但是它的主要作用还在于查看图片的复制情况，即有版权的公司会很喜欢它，谁用了他们的图片而没有支付费用，一查就知道。当然现在TinEye还没有那么厉害，很多图片是搜不出来的；另外它的工作原理也不清楚。
现在的TinEye还处在邀请注册阶段，但不是很紧张，我今天早上注册的，不到1小时就受到注册码了。
TinEye: Search the Web with images instead of words

You’re often relying on the competence of whoever uploaded the shot to provide the proper file name–and in a very small percentage of cases extra hints in the metadata to help the search tool get its hooks in.
In the real world, this isn’t always the case, which is why the creators of a new image search tool called TinEye have approached image search the other way around–letting you search for sites using image files you’ve stored locally. Read more.
