今天，微软推出了历时两年打造的同步（Synchronize）服务——Live Mesh（预览版）。这项由微软首席技术官Ray Ozzie及其团队打造的服务，旨在将不同设备间的文件、设置、各种应用（比如书签、订阅的feed，也包括软件）进行同步。这可比我们介绍过的sugarsync和upline强大多了。

喔，多么令人想入非非的服务。这意味着我们可以随时随地使用不同的设备访问一个云（cloud，or on the fly）中的虚拟系统，然后干点什么，其他的设备就会自动更新，所有的设备就像是用的同一个大脑。嗯，很像我们介绍过的网页操作系统（webOS）。

当然，Mesh现在还做不到。正像Ozzie强调的那样，mesh会是一个开放的平台，研发人员可以为这个平台开发各种功能，这样才能达到“事事同步”的效果。Mesh要到年底才能推出公众测试。

另外简单提一下微软前段时间推出的叫作Albany的SaaS服务，是一个以微软办公软件为主的一个文件包，它的好处是可以在线付费获得软件及软件更新，就像很多网络软件做到的那样，不必再邮购软件了。 这里有ugmbbc提供的albany的安装组图。

Google的OneBox家族又增添了域名查询服务“whois”，只要在搜索框内键入whois和域名，搜索就会得到这个域名的生效和截至日期，点击这个结果可以进入google这项服务的合作伙伴domaintools的详细结果页。上图就是查询我的域名的结果。

大家可以看到在搜索结果上面还有一个竞价广告www.who.is，在这个站点上也能进行类似的域名查找服务。

Google OneBox家族有很多成员，比如查找当地天气（weather）和时间（time）等等。

Google for Non-Profits今天宣布启动，google整合了11项服务为公益组织提供便利，帮助公益组织更好的发布内容、筹款和宣传。

Blogger、Groups以及gmail等工具，主要是帮助公益组织发布内容，与访问者互动交流，其中gmail这项服务还可以使用公益组织自己的域名和logo，而邮件系统由google免费托管。应用checkout，在网页上放一个“donate（捐款）”按钮，可以帮助公益组织筹款。还有像Grants这种原本是收费的adwords广告服务，也对公益组织免费。

“同步(sync)”是目前非常热的一项服务，因为很多人都有两台电脑，如果再加上一部智能手机的话，同时使用的就有3个终端，而在这些终端之间把文件导来导去是一件非常辛苦的事。因此才会有公司提供这种同步服务，使用软件或者网络工具，把各个终端的文件存到一个网络服务器当中去，而且不断更新。

听说SyncWizard开始提供这种服务，是用网页工具，不用下载软件，而且图片、音乐、各种文档、联系人地址、收藏夹都可以同步，而且可以在线使用，比如播放歌曲，编辑文件。功能怎么这么强大？赶紧跑去看个究竟。注册完毕，等到真正开始要同步的时候，出现了提示，见下图，我差点没笑出声来。

原来syncwizard担任的只是一个搬运工的角色，它只负责把文件搬到别家去，而不提供存储，也不提供其他任何工具。文档是搬到zoho，图片搬到picasa，音乐搬到mp3tunes。只有像标签这样的小东西们才存储在自家的仓库里（其他三个网站都属于一家公司）。

SyncWizard只能自动同步我的文档中的图片、音乐和文件，这也是很多同步工具的局限。syncwizard只在IE下表现良好，用firefox同步东西没问题，但是打开mp3tunes有问题。另外，它存储的收藏夹不包括中文文件。

据Pop17报道，Youtube将在年内开启直播视频服务，这条消息得到了youtube联合创始人Steve Chen的确认。下面是女主播Sarah Meyers同Steve Chen的一段对话。

Meyers: “你们打算什么时候在youtube上开通直播视频服务？”

Chen: “2008年，我们今年开始。直播视频一直是我们想做的事，过去我们缺乏资源，但是现在有了google，我希望年内就开始。”

目前有很多网站提供直播视频服务，比如，Mogulus，Justin.TV，Ustream，Blog.tv， Stickam，Yahoo Live， Qik。当视频巨头到来的时候，不知道谁会先倒下。

顺便提一下pop17和它的女主播Sarah Meyers。女主播播IT新闻在美国已经有了几个成功的范例，比如Natali。大概是因为反差的缘故吧，女孩播IT新闻容易成功，就好象男人教做菜的节目十有八九收视率都不错。扯远了。

这种新闻制作的条件很简单，女主播问，再加一个DV摄像（有时也不用）。采访也很灵活，在聚会当中的聊天也能成为新闻，就像这条一样。 很喜欢pop17开播的第一集，Sarah在街上逢人便问“你知不知道谁谁谁”，这个谁谁谁都是美国互联网界的精英，竟然有一多半的人都说不知道。这就是现实，互联网还远远没有成为大多数人的主流，尽管它最终将是主流。

最后说一句，我们还没有像Sarah这样的女孩，没有pop17。
