说清Miro不是一件容易的事，只好将它的几个功能拼凑在一起，算是起了一个题目。它首先是一款播放器，而且是源代码开放的播放器，能播放几乎所有常见的影音格式；然后它可以订阅很多的播客，其实应该说是频道，它可以不断的更新；然后它能搜索主流的视频网站；最后它能把那些更新的文件和搜索到的视频下载下来，包括p2p的方式。下图是操作界面的一个截图，点击看大图。

我们现在看到的是miro的主界面——miro guide，实际上就是可以订阅的各个频道的分类总汇和搜索，图中的两个画面其实就是两个博客，点击“add channel”就可以订阅更新了，订阅过的频道会显示在左侧starter channels当中。

左侧工具栏中的“视频搜索”，就是可以搜索几个主流视频网站，包括youtube、dailymotion等等。下载这些视频，只要点击缩率图右下角的向下的箭头就可以了（此图未标示），订阅频道也是如此。

播放文件的话和一般播放器是一样的，还可以把文件添加到媒体库当中。

Miro需要下载，如果所有功能都安装的话，需要超过80M的空间，有点大。

几天前我们介绍了辨识字体的工具WhatTheFont，今天再把大家引到一个字体宝库FontSpace，这是一个字体社区，目前有7521种字体。它有一个非常实用的功能叫“customize”，填进去你想表现的文字，下面就会出现成百上千的字体供你挑选，一页一页的翻本身就是种乐趣，有发现新大陆的感觉。比如我要找silencewolf有什么样的字体。见下图，点击看大图。

喜欢的话就可以下载这种字体，免费的。如果不急着下载，可以给它加上标签，以后好找，可是一定多加几个，或者加的独特点，因为用户加的标签很多，一个标签往往对应很多种字体，找起来会很麻烦。另外，还可以给字体打分，变换字体大小等功能。

我们介绍过一款叫songbeat的软件，它可以搜索音乐，你可以在线收听或者下载。如果你喜欢它的话，那么你一定会喜欢MP3ZY，它就是一个在线版的songbeat，不需要下载软件，完成同样的活儿。

操作极简单，在搜索框里写上歌曲的名字，比如我想搜“litte red riding hood(小红帽)”这首歌。会有很多的搜索结果，先收听一下，如果满意再下载。

Tasmin Little是当今乐坛最活跃的小提琴演奏家之一，在2006-2007繁忙的世界巡演之后，她要进行一个新的尝试，把最新录制的独奏专辑免费在她的网站上提供下载。

她说，“古典音乐正在遭受被误解的痛苦，必须有人站出来做点什么。”这张新专辑的名字叫做“赤裸的小提琴”，3首乐曲完全由小提琴演绎，没有伴奏，Tasmin Little想告诉人们小提琴能够做到多好。

这个在网上提供免费下载音乐的主意是受到了RadioHead去年在网上销售音乐的启发。不过Tasmin并不想以此赚钱，她只是想让更多的人了解到小提琴的魅力。

1月15日，“赤裸的小提琴”正式上线提供下载。现在网站上已经有很多过去录制的曲目或者广播节目提供下载了，听听吧。
