“地球时刻（EARTH HOUR）”是由世界自然基金会（WWF）发起的一项活动，人们可以自愿参与，在同一时间熄灯一小时，用黑暗向世界传递节约能源、遏制全球变暖的信息。去年的地球时刻是在悉尼举行，今年的地球时刻将面向全球爱环境的人们，大家可以在这里报名。目前已有97388人报名。今年活动的时间是：

A new platform to start changing the world
(via WWF) Forget Facebook, MySpace or You Tube: here comes connect2earth, a new online community where young people can upload videos, pictures and comments about the environment.
On www.connect2earth.org, users and visitors will be able to write, speak, illustrate and video present their concerns on subjects important to them, and share environmental ideas and solutions.
昨天，世界自然基金会（WWF）与阿联酋首都阿布达比市签署了一项合作协议，阿布达比市所辖的马斯达市（Masdar city）加入WWF的“一个地球生活（One Planet Living）”项目，目标是建成一个零碳、零废物、无车之城，成为世界上最最绿色的城市。
这个项目将由马斯达市独立执行，并由公众评估效果。项目的另一个目标是增加这个地区的生物多样性。
这个6平方公里的城市的电能将由光电电池组产生，冷却用的能量由中央太阳能系统提供。水由一个由太阳能提供能量的盐水淡化工厂提供，市内景观和市郊农业用水将使用废水处理厂提供的经过处理的中水。
马斯达市想把自己建成一个可持续发展城市的标尺。
