BookLamp：Google不曾理睬的想法
“google能听听我的想法吗？（can google here me?）” 一年前，一个叫Aaron Stanton的小伙子有了一个好主意，他想让google听听他的想法，并且创办了这个同名网站。后来，他坐到了google在山景（Mountain view）的办公室里。结果是，google没有接受他的想法。但是其他公司和来自全世界的朋友们却有兴趣了解，并且有朋友逐渐加入，和他一起实现这个想法。
这个想法就是BookLamp，一年的努力换来了booklamp的模型。booklamp想要做的事情，是对一本书的全文进行分析，然后给出几个指标来描述这本书，根据这些指标，可以向你推荐别的书。也就是说它是一个图书分析推荐系统。我们来看看下图，看它是怎样来分析一本书的。
BookLamp衡量一本书的指标目前有5个，分别是Pacing（书的版式、字数等，影响阅读速度），Density（文字的难易程度），Action（动作的多少），Descrption（描述类词汇的多少），Dialog（对话的多少）。根据这5个指标，可以把一本书的状态用曲线图表示出来。上图是一本叫作“Pyramid Scheme”的书，我们可以看到这5个指标（图中标了3个）在书中的变化。
根据这种分析，就可以推荐相近的书了。请看下图，点击看大图。
这张图实际上应该是在上一张前面，booklamp最终是要建一个数据库，然后用户可以来搜索一本书，找到和它相近的书。
BookLamp是一个好主意，这种推荐应该比现有的推荐方法要精确的多，而图书推荐又是网上商店和搜索引擎经常要用到的东西。因此，谁会先得到booklamp呢？Google？Amazon？

Last year, he created a site to share his story and managed to convince Google to hear his idea. Since then, a lot of things have happened, other companies became interested in his project and he created a prototype, with a small team of developers.
